What is a professional organizer?

According to the National Association of Professional Organizers: A professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and by transferring organizational skills. Professional organizers help individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper, and their systems for life.

What are your fees?

Desperate Closets Organizing charges $50/hr. There is a 3hr minimum per organizing session unless otherwise prearranged. Packages of 6 or 8 hours are available (6hrs = $275, 8hrs = $360). Payment due at the end of each session unless otherwise agreed.

What are the benefits of hiring a professional organizer?

A Professional Organizer will teach you the skills you need to solve a lifetime of organizing problems by designing systems and processes using established organizing principles. These organizing solutions are tailored to meet your immediate needs as well as give you the tools to stay organized. Like a coach, the Professional Organizer provides the motivation, support and encouragement that is necessary when getting organized and to stay organized.

How long does it take to get organized?

Depending on the size of your room or scope of the project, normal organizing projects take about 3-5 hours. At the end of your free consultation, we will provide you with a verbal estimate for each project.

What can I do to prepare for your visit?

Nothing! Your job is to be open to the process. Please don’t feel like you need to clean or organize before we arrive. We have seen it all. We are here to help you organize in an open non-judgmental environment.

Will I have to throw away a lot of my belongings?

Heavens no! We will work with you to reduce your clutter; however, if you are attached to your stuff we will do everything that we can to create organizing systems that work for you and your things. When you are ready to part with your things, we will creatively help you to sell, consign and donate your belongings so they have a second life.

Do you provide cleaning services?

We will help you to organize your space and sometimes this will involve dusting and some light vacuuming. However, if you need a more thorough cleaning I can recommend a cleaning service after we have organized your space.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, Desperate Closets Organizing is fully insured. Please let us know if you would like to see a copy of our policy.

How do I make an appointment?

What are your business hours?

Desperate Closets Organizing is available by appointment only. Charity usually schedules appointments in 3 hour time blocks, from 9AM-12PM 0r 1PM-4PM.

What is your cancellation policy?

A fee equal to one hour of organizing services will be incurred for all appointments missed without minimum of 24hr notice. This fee may be waived or adjusted at our sole discretion.
